Water Cartridge Type

The Water Cartridge Type fire extinguisher by Krunal Engineering Works is a powerful cooling-based suppression system designed for rugged industrial and commercial environments. Built with a heavy-duty mild steel body and manufactured under IS 15683 standards, this model is specifically tailored for Class A fire risks. Unlike stored pressure units, the propellant gas is stored in an internal cartridge, making it a highly reliable choice for locations where temperature fluctuations or vibrations might affect standard pressure gauges. This extinguisher operates by utilizing a high-velocity water stream to penetrate deep into the core of burning materials. By rapidly absorbing heat, it lowers the temperature of the fuel below its ignition point, which is essential for stopping fires in porous materials like wood or fabric. The cartridge-based mechanism ensures that the unit remains unpressurized during storage, extending its operational life and simplifying the refilling process in remote or industrial settings.

To ensure longevity, the internal surface of the mild steel cylinder is coated with a premium anti-corrosive lining, protecting it from rust despite constant contact with water. The unit features a high-pressure discharge hose and a precision nozzle that allows for accurate application from a distance of 3 meters. This ensures that the operator can effectively tackle a fire while remaining at a safe distance, utilizing at least 85% of the water volume for maximum firefighting efficiency. These units are the industry standard for fire safety in large-scale facilities. They offer a simple yet effective "strike-and-spray" operation, where piercing the internal cartridge instantly pressurizes the tank for action. This mechanical reliability, combined with the immense cooling power of water, makes the Water Cartridge Type an indispensable part of any comprehensive fire safety plan for properties with high solid-combustible loads.

Frequently asked questions.

The Cartridge Type keeps the gas propellant in a separate internal canister. Pressure is only released into the main tank when you strike the plunger. This prevents gradual leaks and makes the unit easier to transport without losing pressure.

It is a fire safety device that uses water as the extinguishing agent, stored in a non-pressurized tank. The pressure required to discharge the water is contained within a separate internal CO2 or Nitrogen gas cartridge. When the plunger is struck, the cartridge pierces, releasing gas into the main tank to force the water out through the hose.

Unlike foam or powder which "smother" a fire by cutting off oxygen, this unit works primarily by cooling. Water absorbs the heat energy from the burning fuel. Once the temperature drops below the material's ignition point, the fire is extinguished. This is the most effective way to stop "deep-seated" fires in wood or fabric.

In factories with heavy machinery or construction sites, constant vibration can cause pressure gauges on "Stored Pressure" units to fail or leak. Because the Cartridge Type is not under pressure during its daily storage, it is much more durable and less likely to fail due to physical environmental stress.
